Time To Put Up Or Shut Up

Former Mayor Sottile is back again. Now, he has written a letter to the Kingston Times in an attempt to provide cover for Steve Noble.  He contends that the Grant scandals or as I call it the "No Bull" scandal (get it?) is "malicious and without any foundation of fact".  He also said his letter was intended to "set the record straight".  Yet, he did not do so.  He offered no explanation, just political cover.

In fact, now that I think on it, Steve Noble has not provided any specifics at all.  He has denied wrongdoing despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary, but has not offered his proof. Apparently, he intends to let other politicos write letters for him saying he is a nice guy, but not offer any specific defense.

Additionally, we have heard attempts to blame others.  First, it was the Junior League's fault. Then it was Anna Brett's fault.  Now, it is apparently the fault of the accusers.

Frankly, that's not good enough, sir.

I have seen the evidence.  I have put some of it on this blog.   All we have heard from Steve Noble are bland denials with nothing else.  In less than a month, there is a huge primary election.  The voters have the right to hear this so-called defense before they vote.

So, let's hear it.  If the allegations are nonsense, then let's hear the proof from YOU not the Assemblyman, not from the previous Mayor, not from Tom Hoffay.  YOU are the candidate.  Voters should hear it from YOU.

Get off your butt and schedule a press conference.  Let's hear the proof you supposedly have of your innocence.  You are running for Mayor.  This is a position that requires a leader, someone who speaks for himself or herself.

When Jim Sottile was Mayor, he spoke for himself.  I very often disagreed with him, but concede that he spoke for himself and did not rely on more powerful politicos to speak for him when the going got tough.  If a scandal like this broke against him, Jim Sottile would have spoken out and addressed the matter head on and directly.

If you have evidence proving your innocence, let's hear it.  Instead of getting current politicos, former politicos, or pathetic hangers-on who like to manipulate behind the scene to do your talking, step up and face this like a leader.  Stop looking for people to blame.  Voters deserve more than just words.  Your accusers have produced evidence.

Step up to the microphone. Put up or shut up.

This is my biggest concern regarding Steve Noble. It appears that a cat has gotten his tongue. He needs to call a press conference to either defend himself or forget about running for Mayor. I don't see any backbone in this gentleman. He sure is prolific on his Facebook page but not too well in a public venue. Still waiting to hear what he is going to do if he ever became Mayor. Right now he looks like a great ventriloquist act with somebody's hand up his back. Too bad he cannot recognize that he was sold a bill of goods orchestrated by the anti Gallo dumocrats.
With Uncle Jimmy defending him or running interference it shows that the family connection would continue if he ever got elected.

I was going to vote for the eventual winner in the democratic primary Now I am pulling the Polacco lever. These Dems make me sick.

It's this guys fault it's that guys fault. Current Mayor couldn't prove his case against that fireman. Noble can't fill out grants right. Prior administration it's all bs.

The great debate is on. You will get your wish 12:27. Good to see Noble stand his ground against the bully.

How dare Alibaba aka JS, open his pie hole. Interesting that he has complete recall of all of young Noble's achievements after all these years. I doubt he remembers even signing his name to the approval documents. Someone clearly wrote the letter for him aka TH. He has come out of hiding perhaps for a promised job? With all the people coming out speaking for young Noble, aka Wonder Boy, it clearly demonstrates that he is nothing more than a puppet for the good ole boys...

Hmmmmm...all this and more for a job that pays $75,000. Is going into politics really worth the trouble and aggravation?? Kingston politics is definitely turning into a cesspool.

Can you believe Sottile who was run out of office and makes Shayne look like an alter boy compared to his loud mouth going off all the time. This guy should go back into his hole, people remember his craziness.

I believe this election will be decided by which team works harder. Four years ago Gallo's team out worked Clements team. This year Gallo's team is made up of lazy wannabes. Plus he hired and then fired the hardest workers. Some of which are now working for Noble. I see Noble winning by more than 7 votes.

Well said, Rich, Well said.

If you can't make 75k as a lawyer how good are you really. Hell the average police and firemen make that much. Even some foreman at DPW make that much I am told.

If Noble wins, how long before the announcement that Tom Hoffay will be appointed City Clerk?

Truth is, not only are the Gallo straphangers waiting for their gravy jobs, but Noble straphangers as well. We see the same tired old politicians being recycled over and over with no change or improvement in the city--Gallo, Noble, Hoffay, Provenzano, Donaldson, Hein, etc, etc.

The only certain thing is that all these people will continue to collect their paycheck at our expense. No hard work, no improvements, and no intelligent dialogue--only mudslinging, rumors, and finger pointing.

11:27,

When I ran for Mayor, I was willing to take a pay cut in order to serve my community. I do not know what Gallo's salary or earnings were prior to being Mayor, but I am confident he took a pay cut as well.

8:09,

Got to question that one. He is doing weekends at the County jail. Thus, he would not be out and about during the weekend.

FYI, he completed his sentence and his weekends are now free.
Next time (and it won't be long), he is going to get real time and it probably won't be in isolation.

He was not in jail this weekend so look into it, I saw him in hannaford with some girl Sat night. How that girl would be with him is beyond me!

Amen, 8:10. This election seems to be more contentious then I can remember. The issues that we need to hear about are being drowned out with the democratic in party fighting. Still waiting to hear Steve Noble's plan for the city. Already know Gallo's plan and I can see results. Hope the debate will reveal more on both sides. These plans do not happen over night or even within a 4 year term. It is about what the future holds for Kingston. We need new blood and stop the dynasty political paths. If as a politician you have not achieved your original goals, time to move on after 2 terms for Mayor and for Alderman at large. 14 years for Jim Noble is excessive. Go now as it is hard to run against an incumbent. New people will step up to run . Same goes for Mayor...self limit yourself to 2 terms.
As an observation..Polacco, where art thou???

I think the fact that J.Sottile is coming out for the Nobles is fine, they have a long history together so I expect nothing else...but what is not fine is Sottile writing a letter to the Kingston Times claiming that Steve worked on so many wonderful grant projects over the years. A close look at the list shows that most of the grants Sottile listed were never reimbursed (so what good was getting the grant if no one did the proper paperwork to ensure the city would get the money??) and one or two, Steve had absolutely nothing to do with. There are people who actually worked on the sewer treatment plant upgrades who all say the Steve had nothing to do with the project & was never at the plant. So, what is Sottile's point?? Just make stuff up & hope the voting public are too stupid to fact check?!

Nice post cahill 7:57 AM

Yes. The voting public is that stupid. They elected a guy who smacked a woman in public. Just tell people what they want to hear. Dems have been doing it forever.

Jim "I throw drinks in women's faces" Sottile's letter is a joke. Come on Hoffay you can write better than that.

blaber had some kind of altercation this past weekend (saturday) with john bankert. bankert called the cops, blaber was charged with criminal mischief for throwing a rock through a car window. BEWARE...blaber is still walking around campaigning (asking to put up lawn signs) for the Nobles...lock your doors, don't let him near your house....still on drugs, still a menace to society. he just finished serving his weekends in jail for his last offense (breaking & entering) so he has been seen around.

Gallo is not going to create a 3rd party line.

News flash: over 185 people joined Mayor Shayne Gallp and Jeanette Provenzano on the boat ride this evening, great event.

News Flash: more than 185 people joined Mayor Shayne Gallo and Jeanette Provenzano, Alderman at Large candidate on the boat ride tonight. Great time and fun was had by all.

I saw go ahead and let Blaber campaign for the Nobles. Great spokesman, a man of integrity..NOT! Nothing would ruin a campaign faster than Blaber walking the streets espousing the merits of the Nobles....

Schmuck!
