Imitation is the Sincerest Form of Flattery

Back near the beginning of the campaign, I proposed eliminating the Economic Development office and placing it with an Economic Recovery Team made up of local people with the expertise in various areas of economic development.

My idea has apparently caught on. Hayes Clement has sent out a mailing in which he proposes establishing an "Economic Development Advisory Panel" made up of local leaders and experts.

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so I guess all I can say is thanks.

Look for whoever wins the election in use a lot of your ideas. Gallo, Turco,Levin and Clement are the front runners. Rich you are a longshot, but I hope you win.

Your ideas are great and need to be implimented no matter who win the election.

i see Sottile's buddy Joe Mcgowan is mixed up with taking our copper from the Kings inn site. That needs to be addressed and anything less is unacceptable!

The Mcgowan family has close ties to the Sottile adminstration and you can bet that he, Joe Mcgowan cashed in on our copper. He needs to return the money or go to jail! He is also cosy with gerry shatzel, the retired officer that was working at the site as well. Steve Gorsline now works for Schatzel, what a coincidence huh.

I'm sure if a proper investigation is done of the missing copper piping at the Kings Inn site, there will be City employees that were present or at least had knowledge of the copper being taking. The Freeman article reads as if the Fire Departments Brass was there (white shirts and badges). The DPW employees had their dumpsters there. But it is sad to say, nothing will happen to anyone except the guy that broke the story.

What betterway to steal than right in front of everyone. Once again the City lacks oversight on the jobs we contract out.

I see they are digging the same spot on Broadway in front of the YMCA.

Let's not blame the contractor for acting in his own self-interests. We taxpayers are paying good salary and terrific benefits to experienced career public servants to protect our interests, Seems the Mayor, Comptroller, Department heads may have neglected their jobs and may have participated in a make believe theft to pass another bond? It is amazing that only one cndidate for elected office has been speaking out about this - are the others accepting of this behavior?

Bill,

I cannot comment about Mr. McGowan. As I noted in one of the articles, the firm that employs me represented him on a Workers' Compensation matter that is technically still open.

That means, as a matter of ethics, I cannot comment on the charges against him.
