Gallo Asks D.A. to Investigate Fire Chief Salzmann

The Mayor of Kingston has referred a matter to the District Attorney for investigation involving the "time attendance" of retiring Fire Chief Salzmann. Additionally, Mayor Gallo told the Daily Freeman that "no money accrued by Salzmann will be paid to the chief until the district attorney's investigation is complete."

Personally, I know little more than what is being reported in the newspaper. It is certainly a bombshell story, however.

Chief Salzmann is innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

This city has been waiting for a leader to take on the misdeeds of its employees.
Now that we have someone ready to do this, how happy will everyone be when the crap hits the fan?
Heads will roll and thngs will be exposed
This could be fun to watch.
Even you have to be pleased that Shayne is trying to clean house somewhat...

11:27,

Even me? Not sure what you mean by that.

Nevertheless, yes, I am pleased. Though my appointments to various positions would have differed from Mayor Gallo, I can honestly tell you that I agree with the 2 or 3 major decisions he has made thus far.

There is one proposal with which I disagree, but I am not sure that Mayor Gallo is supporting it. It is currently an issue before the Common Council.

The only thing that will happen is that the City will spend more money on legal fees. Saltzman is sure to sue if he isn't given the money owed.

With Salzmanns departure marks the end of an era and the last of the good ole boys club at least in Kingston, who will be next to face the DA? Sottile-wait and see....Kudos to Gallo he has a great start, no love loss between him and our former lame-duck Mayor-Rich one question why do all these guys end up moving in Flordia? is there a crooked dept heads club we taxpayers don't know about?.

Sottile! True Identity is Ali Babba! Look what was around him 40t thieves.

To 6:10--Do you really think this would have gotten this far if the parties involved didn't feel pretty confident a crime was committed?

Another rat deserting the ship. Seems every department head under the TR Gallo/Sottile administration has left, except Kevin Gilfeather. Gilfeather is probably the cleanest as he hasn't been in the "good ol boys club". Maybe that is why the old council was trying to get rid of him every budget season. He wouldn't lie, cheat or steal.

C Rea is a good choice. But another dept head that does not live in the City.

To 2:48 Theres been no crime. Gallo just cannot afford to pay the chief his accruals. The DA wont touch this case. Time and attendance is a City problem not a crime.

This is not the Matthews case. Salzmann didn't steal anything just wants the money he is owed.

Salzmann is a crook, I know for a fact that he was illegally cashing in his Vacation time. Sit tight, all will be coming out soon.

If Salzmann is a crook why wont the City release the records? No, Gallo let his temper get the best of him and now we all will have to pay.

Rob,

I have told you what I know.

Frankly, I have had other things on my mind the last few days that take priority.

Once my Dad is well again, I can be more diligent in the area of politics. Until then, my Dad takes priority.

Jeremy Blaber is currently working for the City and did a post on his blog at 11:51 AM on Monday, January 30, 2012. How can he do this during working hours, Gallo should investigate this immediatley.

Anonymous said...

To 1:07pm Smuck! He works part time.

Anonymous said...

Jeremy's job is part-time. He is allowed to have a blog in his free time right?? Maybe if people spent a little more time working to address our city's problems instead of searching for ways to complain we could actually see improvements.

Hey 1:07 Jeremy is part-time & doesn't report to work until 1pm so calm down and get a life!!

To those who wish to attack young Mr. Blaber, he has been given a chance to be gainfully employed, he is working his tail off and anyone who has seen him over the last few weeks will attest that he is doing a good job. How about you give him some credit for getting off his butt and trying to succeed in the workplace.

Also, just a friendly warning, he is ticketing practically every illegally parked car within the city limits so make sure to feed the parking meters, respect those handicapped parking signs and fire hydrants.

Jeremy is on the loose, and he is cutting no breaks.

Yeah the Mayor's water boy is doing a half way descent job. I saw him running today across broadway, I guess he was working. I doubt he was running to an ice cream truck in February. I wish them all the best. I voted for Hayes Clement, I did not want a life long Kingstonian as Mayor. Gallo won, God bless him, his water boy and this great city.

To 6:27 If Clement had become mayor Salzmann would still be working!

Yes, Salzmann would still be working and Steve Aaron would have a deal in his pocket that allows him to skate on all his taxes, past, present and future.
Stay tuned, its a new day . . .
