Now I know how Shayne Gallo felt

Let me start by congratulating Andi Turco-Levin. She is now the nominee of the Republican Party while I am the nominee of the Conservative Party.

I understand now how Shayne Gallo felt. People looked me right in the eye and lied to me. It is a terrible feeling. I have more respect for people who at least have the guts to look me in the eye and tell me that they will not support me.

Nevertheless, I have to make a decision now. I will not make a final decision while I am still emotional, but I am quite sure that I will run a primary election for the Republican Party line.

It has only just begun . . .
Let the people decide, not the dozens on the committee.
Going to be a fun summer . . .
Still predicting Gallo and Cahill in November.

Well, Ollie...Don't say you weren't warned. How does it feel to be defeated by the very people who pretended to support you? Guess what? You should have listened to "The Insider" from the beginning. Oh, well...

Dont do it, rich,

Andi Turco-Levin has a great shot @ defeating whomever the Dems run

She is the future of the Kingston GOP & a rising star in the GOP !!!

Let her run, give up the Conservative line,, & do the RIGHT thing, Sir.

PLEASE !!

thanks,

a GOP friend,,

7 am,

I am going to a primary. I will let the full Republican electorate decide. Andi cannot defeat either Dem.

As noted by the "Insider", the GOP City Chair worked the room against me. As such, the actions of the GOP do not reflect the position of the electorate.

Neither party has much to be proud of, they way the county and city has been run into the ground in the last 10 years.
As much as I appreciate Andi's effert, she is not ready to be the leader in chief.
You must run, and primary her, as the party that couldnt even fill Ecca Terra, isnt the final word around here anymore.
Sad day when popularity is more important than valued leadership, or intelligence.

Rich for the good of Kingston unite the party and get behind Turco-Levin. Don't waste the summer fighting each other. We have to get rid of the "good ol Boys Club".

Andi and the republicans can take over the City if the republicans stop the in fighting before the dems do.

Even if the chairmen was working the floor, it was still a secret ballot. Be the bigger man.

2:25 PM,

The best way to get rid of the "Old Boys Club" is to take a stand against those "Good Old Boys" and women who use duplicity and lies to anoint their favorite nominees.

Wow what a gift to the Dems. Remember what I blogged you after you came out and said you were going to be the choice of the party. Seems like Kingston has their own Sarah Palin feel the knife in your back.

The "good old boys" do not rest on one candidate or another. They are the connected folks in the shadows, looming and fostering influence through shady deals and exchanges of support for jobs and/or city contracts. The good old boys will lose when the rules of pay to play are replaced and jobs and contracts are awarded on merit rather than in exchange for favors.

Shayne lost the nomination because he refused to promise jobs in exchange for votes at the convention. Rich likely lost for much the same reason. The delegates want a mayor who they can control, who will agree to do something or other because an influential person makes a request rather than because it serves the city. While candidates who do what is right for the city and their constituents rather than what their handlers demand do not get the support of the delegates, they will get the support of the electorate.

Do you really think that Tony Singara is the Good ole Boys Club? Come on. He is at best, old.

Considering that I was not there, please tell how Singara lied to you.

9:50,

I am not going into details. He did so and that's all that matters.

Are there fireworks in the City on July 4th?

Rich,go to a primary and if need be run on the conservative or any other line.It is imperative that Turco-Levin be stopped. The ways of Sinagra are no surprise. The council for the most part is a clown show. The people deserve a choice;not the joke and the jokester.

Anonymous said...

Yea go to the council meetings and see the fireworks there.

big tony really did a number on you so much for loyalty with friends like him you know what they say well by the look of things being a good republican isn't what is cracked up to be good luck in the primary

Anonymous said...

Tony Sinagra should be ashamed. You were loyal to him. You made him Chairman and he stabbed you in the back.

Anonymous said...

No need for a party picked candidate. Go to primary and let the people decide.

Anonymous said...

You got my vote, Rich.

What Sinagra did was cowardly. He should have acted more like a man. I'm confident you'll win the primary. People remember the work you've done.

Tony Sinagra's belligerent and arrogant attitude is one reason why there is always a democratic landslide. When he was on the counsel he would tell people what they wanted to hear and then stab them in the back. He, and therefore the GOP, could not be trusted. Most of the old guard of the City's GOP has moved on but you will never win until Tony and his cronies are gone. The people are on to him but not the GOP. Doesn't speak well for you guys again.

Mathews is working in Esopus must be working with the Steve Aaron who is just as bad as far as the Rules and Law is concerned.

Rich,

Disappointing that you are not even updating the blog.

Now is the time to hold your head up and fight. Time to come out of your shell, tell the community what you are going to do in September and start doing it.

Primary or go home. Don't start with the negotiating a spot in some mythical admininstration. The only way that myth comes to frution is if you beat Andi in a primary and Hayes beats Shayne.

That's the only hope the republican party has of taking city hall.

Remember, if this is really what you want, then fight for it. If you lose the fight, you go home with your head held high. If you don't fight at all, it will haunt you for decades to come . . .

6:58,

I am fighting. I have been concentrating my efforts on getting signatures to force the primary.

I appreciate the pep talk though. Nothing motivates people more than a good swift kick in the behind.
