New GOP Chair to be Elected in March

Chairman Sinagra has resigned again.

Last year, he resigned and then took it back after I revealed it on this blog.  Now, he has done so again.  Let's see if he actually goes through with it this time.

Two most likely replacements are Gerald Brown or John Quigley, both good men.

Sinagra goes down in infamy as perhaps the worst Chairman ever.  Republicans had a legitimate shot at the Mayor's office and possibly the Common Council in 2011.  Sinagra flushed this opportunity by first attacking Ron Polacco and then by betraying me at the GOP convention.

This put me in a position of having to run on the Conservative line (I had given my word to the Conservatives before learning  that Tony was supporting Andi Turco-Levin despite promising to support me)

It placed Ron in a position where he felt he had to run as well.

The result was a split ticket and the collapse of the entire committee.

Then, 4 years later, Sinagra, out of personal animosity, refused to support Polacco when he was the nominee.  Without any real party help, Ron almost pulled it off.  With party help, he might have won.

The next Chair will have his/her hands full with the deep hole Sinagra dug for the party.

They would both be good. John Quigley brings a younger perspective with the possibility of recruiting younger committee persons. Get rid of old and stodgy men republicans perception. Gerald Brown has the professionalism and the management experience to lead the Republican party. Great organizer. I believe he currently is the treasurer of the party. They both might be able to bring back people who were once involved and left due to politics within the party.

The republicans had a golden opportunity to win City Hall last November. Let's see if new leadership can improve things...there should be no reason whatsoever a republican cannot win the Mayor race in 4 years. This nonsense with one family running the city and having no oversight has to end.

The smartest thing the City republicans could do is bring Jean Jacobs back as chairman. She was the only one who raised money for the treasury and led fundraising efforts though most of the committee sat on the sidelines and did nothing to assist. She was also the only one who launched aggressive campaigns and all the seats were challenged. Sinagra couldn't shake the trees for candidates. Sad that so many of the committee have done nothing to help themselves. Getting rid of Sinagra is the first solution, the rest of the old guard should follow. Until you weed out the old guard, the committee will not amount to anything. They have chased people away who wanted to make a difference, including you Rich.

McCLean?? seriously??....hardly the image that the republicans want to portray....

Thought Joe Ingrarra is acting chair

His change of enrollment does not take effect until after the 2016 election. Plus, the GOP will not vote for a left winger who has close ties to the WFP.

you got that right Rich....no constant party switcher is wanted!! and has aligned himself with the WFP! nut job too..!!

Blaber for Chairman said...

We will see Mr.Cahill,

I was never a member of the working families party, I was employed by them and have been employed by numerous Republican campaigns as well. http://blaber4gop.blogspot.com/ I invite you to join the movement Mr.Cahill and look forward to working with you as Chair of the Conservative party, with or without your help, we will take back the office of Mayor and pick up seats on the council in two years. By 2018 we will have four seats on the common counsel and by 2024 we will have the Mayor's office back and a majority of the common counsel. My plan will be layed out Ward by ward in the next few weeks.

Jeremy doesn't just have close ties with wfp, he worked for them for years in New York city, he wasn't just a Democrat he served as a Democratic committeeman for years and was the party's secretary while Gallo was Mayor. He is ruthless, yes he would be better than Jean Jacobs or Bruce McClean but he has no morals, cares about himself and power, he smokes pot, uses cocaine and has in the past abused prescription drugs. I'm a Democrat and have no horse in this race, I've worked with Blaber under Sennett and Auerbach's races and was impressed in the beginning but during Gallo's race I saw how he conducted himself, how he treated Hayes. The whisper campaign on Clement's sexuality, he has no ethics and uses drugs because he is lonely and has no friends because he will do anything and cross anyone for the pursuit of celebrity and power, he uses people and people use him. J needs years of therapy to overcome his deep rooted issues that probably stem from childhood, the man should not be in control of a political party until he gets his impulse control undrer wraps, a few wins are not worth selling out to a person that doesn't even believe in what he's selling himself, you want a hired gun vote for Mr. Blaber. If you want a Chairman that will win at a slower rate but have longevity and bring integrity to the process vote for Quigley Jr. or Ms. Jacobs.

Blaber is a con artist cares about himself only not the party. Put in Quigley!!

Hey, someone had their ear to the door at the executive session of finance meeting last Monday night where gartenstein bullshitted the council and spooked them into settling the Rea case with the threat of it going to the federal court. Gartenstein better have a real job lined up because when the investigation is conducted, it will prove he was unethical in his responsibilities to represent the citizens/taxpayers of the city. All to save his job. Keep up the good work!! The City would have won the case for sure.

Stick to running the Kingston Goodfellas blog.

The City GOP will never choose you as Chair.

Hay Rich can`t you see that's Jeremy talking to himself..

Jeremy, if you are reading this, get therapy. You have issues stemming from your childhood. Your drug problems stem from your low self esteem or an over exaggeration of your self worth. Take your pick.
No, you cannot have the republican party to play with. Why don't you start your own party? Leave us Republicans alone. Have no use for your "skills".

last year Gartenstein was telling everyone they had Rea as did you Mr Cahill, and the Judge Mott decision to prove it. Just be patient. A year later the tide turns

Richard T. Cahill Jr. said...

The tide that turned was the election of a new Mayor.

Anonymous said...

So the new mayor just cost us 3 hundred thou. not waiting for mott s decision.. Gartenstein s Back door dealing. Rea would not have won...And you can take that to the BANK..

Anonymous said...

amen to that, Rich. I think the new Mayor had this on his "to do list". Wonder if any family/friend connections to the Rea family.... Nobles seem to permeate just about every thing. Think Jim Sottile whispered in Noble's ear??

Anonymous said...

How do you think Gartenstein kept his job, He works alongside rea wife at family court.

Anonymous said...

Gartenstein is no good and is costing the city thousands of dollars. Why doesn't the council investigate him, oh he is a good boy with Will, Noble, etc. This Rea thing is a joke.

Anonymous said...

Ahhhhhhh 10:02.....now I see....so much for protecting your employer(city hall)!!! But that would also mean the new corp counsel, Mr.Bryant was in on the deal?? He was hired by the new administration. Nothing ever changes in the political arena. Disappointed.

Sinagra was supporting Gallo in the election.

Rich, Just saw your letter of resignation in the Freeman. You are a man of honor and a guy who sticks to his principals. This whole Rea case was a major cesspool. I can' t say all firefighters were glad to see him back. The pictures in the Freeman showed very little fireman standing around so I do not trust that caption under the picture. . mostly his family in the firehouse. Remember , he was not exonerated. just awarded a settlement. Case was still in appeals....

Richard T. Cahill Jr. said...

Thank you.

Anonymous said...

the cost of the settlement will be a lot more than $300,000 but nobody wants to come forward and investigate it. How about you Rich? If anybody you know where the money/bodies are buried.

I am encouraging republicans to get involved in their city of Kingston. There are so many issues arising at city hall that might possibly affect a conservative/moderate population. It seems like the new Mayor and his team are trying to make his term inclusive of only people who agree with his agendas. (environmental, sustainabilty energy and etc.) Any business outside that realm gets a pass. That is very discouraging ...not encouraging diverse types of business. And he said he wanted to encourage a better business atmosphere in his speech at his inauguration. Not happening...... And while I am at it, lets see our city republican party grow..No more apathy. Our enrollment has dropped in recent years. They have a possibility of new leadership in John Quigley, as city of Kingston party chairman, if he gets elected. He is young, intelligent and enthusiastic in moving the party into the 21st century. Republicans need new young blood with fresh ideas. The old school is dying or moving out of NY. Get involved..!!

Joe Ingara to be the next City GOP chair.

SO nothing new at the Republican City Party... Same old, same old..... Going to have to see if the Democrats have anything to offer...I have no party alignment at the present but am looking for a somewhat moderate political party...maybe some conservative democrats with some new ideas...Obviously the Republican Party in Kingston has nothing new to offer. Just keeps recycling..... Like what Trump is doing to shake up the establishment but I will probably support Kasich.
