Question

Why are we STILL getting quotes in the Freeman from Sottile and Hoffay?

They hold no position and are not party chairs.

Go away!!

I agree. They already had their chance to screw up the city. Go away you two! get a life. And Hoffay can take the uptown canopy with him. He was so gung ho on it. Look what we got stuck with. Shoddy work which will probably rot quicker than the previous covering.

Point being they were the ones pulling the strings during their Saturday morning pow-wows for the past two years. They were on a power mission to get their paws back in the cookie jar and our Mr. Mayor Gallo was not having any part of it. He kept shining a light on their inefficiencies and corruption. Let's see how many times the press reach out to Mayor Gallo for his comments and thoughts going forward. Who cares what Hoffay and Sottile say anyway. However, if the new mayor relies on either one of them to guide him, he's already in trouble.

Clearly the Freeman contacted them, but clearly they both defected their rolls in the shame by changing the subject...radical left protecting one of their own...B Will....at lease Will showed up to be sworn in.

Come to think of it..did anybody see Hoffay at swearing in ceremony? I saw pictures of the event and did see Sottile and Landi in attendance.

A question for Kingston: Who ratted out Eliot Spitzer in the prostitution scandal which took that governor down? Had to have been someone who knew about it intimately, perhaps an executive chamber staff aide who might have made those call girl arrangements in the first place.

Another question: Which staff aide was fired by the Spitzer administration for getting into an altercation with crack dealers on Washington Avenue, while trying to buy drugs for his gay boyfriend? There's no arrest paperwork, but the news got back to Albany, and the cop who saved this man's life is still on the force.

Hint: Who do you see nearby, whenever there's nasty Democratic infighting and backstabbing around Kingston?

I have heard these stories too. There are even worse ones about this individual. Problem is that the proof has been well buried.

If you have some, present it.

AHhhhhhhhh.. is Kerfuffle referring to the Honorable KC??? Did I win Trivia contest?? Or is it his sidekick Mr. Hoffay?? who always seems to be in the thick of dissension among the ranks. After all these years he still has a job in Cahill office. Wonder where he would land if Cahill ever gets voted out of office. Has not held a job on his own since the day he got out of school. Wouldn't know what a job application looks like.
I too have heard the stories but nobody has really come forward with the info. What are they afraid of?

Everyone knows who that was arrested

The story has "legs," meaning it is capable of going somewhere on its own, without embellishment or assistance from anybody else. The cop has spoken, but is still on the force and risks retaliation, especially under this new administration. We have also identified the crackhead boyfriend. Perhaps Spitzer might be willing to talk now, since the coverup was meant to protect him, not the local scoundrel. Everything should come to a head in about two years, when the political climate has shifted. By that time, everyone will see how the city has become one giant "Kinderland-fishing pier" fiasco.

well it has been said going back to the late 1800's that Ulster was one of the most corrupt counties in NYS. So thrilled we haven't lost that designation.... I could assume the reason this will come to a head is that the cop mentioned will be retiring? We await with bated breath the arrival of the fishing pier this year? or not? That was a fiasco with a whole lot of lying going on. I am hoping somewhere in the future that Mayor Gallo will be vindicated with his concern of lying down at the Parks & Rec Dept. and the personnel's way of transferring blame. Time for a new Director as I feel he is tainted in this whole process.

Speaking about the "fishing pier" where is it? The promise that it was to be placed last year never materialized. Lies!!!!

What's up with the rescinded police promotions

11:59. That is what Gallo had been trying to say about Parks and Rec. and one employee in particular.

The fishing pier has finally been delivered, thanks to Greg Swanzey who took over the parks & rec grants and reworked them so the projects got done, and the state money got reimbursed. So, of course, the new mayor very slyly offered Swanzey a job, at $20,000 less, knowing Swanzey would say no. the new mayor certainly doesn't want the one guy in the building who knows his weaknesses staying on. now he can say he offered Swanzy a job, and he refused. same old, same old. So the economic development office is dismantled and the mayor plans on creating 2 new civil service positions to try to fill swanzey's shoes, at $55,000 each! why not just the keep the guy who is doing a great job at $70,000 & and move on? now the taxpayers will pay upwards of $160,000, with benefits & retirement for 2 new civil service positions, for 2 peopole to do try to do the job that one person was doing...and doing well. Our taxes are going to skyrocket in the next few years. Wait until the disgruntled policeman who were promoted and then demoted file their lawsuits against the city! And there is going to be a corp counsel right out of law school who won't know his ass from a hole in the ground trying to deal with it all. Good luck Kingston!

It's at the City of Kingston transfer station.

I wholeheartedly agree with 7:04. Seems Stevie Boy is learning from the best..NOT!I am hoping the city council reviews and denies Mayor Noble request. Money is in contingency fund and he has to get approval from the members. But then again the Democratic party stacked the deck with the new members now on board who were part of the #One Kingston platform. This will be a roller coaster of an administration. Noble will be easily influenced by outside Politicos. As we know a lot of Democrats like to spend,& spend, ( gets them votes, they think) and with eliminating Swanzey's position, now more than ever, they need an EXPERIENCED grant writer to get funds to cover their "shopping lists" No one will take a lowly $50,000 job with any kind of an experienced resume. Or their plan might be to sneak in the back door a city planner like some of his contributors espoused. But then again you will get what you paid for. I was starting to feel hopeful for the city but now that expectation is lowered. Amateur hour.

That's right, 11:26. My theory is that all of the animus that was rightly placed toward Sottile wound up on Gallo II. That to me is pretty much how the press insisted on maneuvering things. Reminds me of the time the taxi hit a car that was behind me, and the massive new entity created from that hit my vehicle in the rear. I was in pain for six weeks, just not long enough to sue. Who caused the crash? The taxi, of course(whose front crumpled up like an accordian this guy was going so fast)...but because the car hit me too as a result, if I villified that car too then I would've been like the local press villifying Gallo for ALL of Sottile's sins also(in this case the car in between the causer of this crash and my vehicle had absolutely no fault at all in the matter). Something analogous to the Sottile-Gallo II effect. Or, as Judge Judy might put it:"don't crash into someone behind me who then hits me because the initial crash was so severe and say we're both driving inside a stock car race."
