Violation of County Ethics Law??

The County Ethics Law was passed in 2008.  It holds that county employees and officials, including legislators  “ shall not use his/her official position or office or take or fail to take any action in a matter which he/she knows or has reason to know may provide a personal financial benefit or secure unwarranted privileges or exemptions. ”

Now, as I was viewing the dash cam video from Legislator Berky's traffic stop, I distinctly heard her say, "you're not going to let me go even though I'm a county legislator".

Hmmmmm.  Try to use her position as a county legislator?

Hmmmmm.

I believe if my ears heard it correctly, Ms. Berky mentioned at least 4 times that she was a county legislator; in fact, that was one of the first things she said at the beginning of the conversation. And now this episode has received national attention with media outlets calling which posed a problem for the County Legislature Office after Berky's contact information was removed from their website.

Um, anyone could file a complaint according to https://ecode360.com/9670447. You're even in her district. Filing one so it could be revealed, say Monday, would be appropriate. Talk show fodder? Get a petition added to your complaint and file Monday. kinda make sure the Freeman picks it up? We the members of Ms. Berky's district..etc. etc. Hint. The Freeman and Kingston Times articles were essentially almost begging people to file a complaint.

Blatant asking for favor. Ethic violation! .....Also concerning that she stepped out of the car which is something to avoid and was walking towards the officer....If it had been any other officer , depending on their temperament and please note that Officer Short was exemplary, could have raised his gun as she was acting irrational and heading towards him in an agitated state. Basic driver Ed lesson in dealing with a traffic stop. Stay in your car until you are asked to step out of the car. Not sure how she can live this PR nightmare out and add in a scripted apology to the mix of this national video (even Canada) and Europe out there in the universe. Near a million views and a 1/4 as many comments....Does she qualify for being on a no fly list with such obvious mental health issues.? Good thing she is a liberal progressive and more than likely will not be going for a gun permit.. DENIED!!

Speaking of ethics, thank God Len Bernardo lost the supervisor race in Rochester. Also still waiting for the breathalizer test of Det. Eric Van Allen, who rolled his car on Rt. 32 several years ago. And that incident is the least of his problems!

Sounds as if the Mayor and Police Chief may not be seeing eye to eye along with the Police Commission

What is wrong with this Council? Charles Blaichman wants a payment in lieu of taxes PILOT on his bontique hotels in uptown that would generate $632,305 worth of taxes over the next 10 years. Wake up Council this guy also owns the abandoned forest meating packing plant on Abeel st that is vacant. WAKE UP
