Not Eligible

Some of you may have noticed that Jeremy Blaber posted on this blog on March 3rd declaring his intention to run for Kingston City GOP Chair.  He even posted a link to yet another blog he created for his intended run.

However, I checked with the Board of Elections.  Although Jeremy changed his enrollment, he did it too late.  It will not take effect until after the November elections this year.

So, until that time, Blaber remains an enrolled Democrat and is thus not legally eligible to be a Republican Committeemen let alone City Chair.  You would think an experienced politico would know this, wouldn't you?

Additionally, John Quigley has withdrawn his candidacy for City GOP Chair after speaking with County Chair Rascoe.

Joe Ingarra, a man I like and respect, will be the City Chair.  Joe will do a good job.

I must admit though that I despise seeing the County Committee take an active role in the selection of City or town chairs.

Joe or John would both do great jobs.  The pick should have been by the City Committee without influence from County.  But, as they say, that's pollybiz.

I agree with your statement..county, please leave city of Kingston chairmanship alone. Stop meddling..... And your influence on the primary process. You turn away and turn off good people. Stop protecting the "establishment" . And you wonder why Trump is making headway....

As an experienced politico yourself you should realize that nothing is ever as it seems. Does Blaber really wanna run or is he putting up a front person or do the Bernardo's want the committee. Blaber has told friends if mine he plans stack that committee not what he'll do get around the registration issue but it doesn't matter. You guys know and it's March, that's not stacking the committee that's taking over the committee fairly in my opinion. He has said this foolishly since March or even before if you guys don't get new members and build your committee than he deserves it. If you guys can't add ten to twelve new people and ones that will be active than as much as I disagree with Blaber's hunger for power, I'd rather have him or Mickey Mouse. Forget about chairman race for one second, the council is 8-1, both legislative seats are Democrat, the Mayor and ALd at Large are Democrats. Putting in Joe Ingarra as Chairman is great, he's one of two people to ever beat a Gallo but that committee does nothing and the goal has to be to get new members that are interested in knocking on doors making calls recruiting candidates all of that. JB has that experiance again it don't support his candidacy, you don't join a committee and become the chair but he's a hard worker. Joe Ingarra needs to step up and start talking to the paper like you did, there was a time when you were Alderman that the counsil was 5-4 and that was because you represented a voice of oposision, not everyone liked you but they understood you knew what you were talking about and listened. That's why the make up of council was different than it is now. Joe needs to do that as well as bring in new blood. Jacobs, and Sinagra were both jokes, dump inactive members of your committee, energize the good ones and get to work. John Quigley could win a seat in the legislature next year, and at least three seats on the council can go Republican. The worst threat to the Republican Party in Kingston are themselves.

This is a clear example of the intertwining invisible hand and the city committee should be up in arms about the county committee overstepping their boundaries. What the city committee needs is a radical cleanup and until you weed out the inactive, do-nothing committeemen, the city committee will go nowhere--the same place it's been for too many years. Mr. Ingarra is part of the problem. No difference from Sinagra or McLean.

It's not Cahill's party, he's chair of Conservative party so he has nothing to do with its current state, he's been vocal against Sinagra. It's tough to get people to join we are so out numbered by democrats. Joe introduced Blaber to city committee meeting tonight and was clear to mention he's a Republican but can't join committee officially till whenever but Blaber didn't say otherwise.. Very telling he was an invited guest by the Chairman. I was going to introduce myself and ask him if he wanted to start slow or even have a conversation but he left as soon as meeting closed didn't say hello to anyone. You'd think for someone wanting to be chair he'd stay after and talk with people, he was much more normal than I expected from paper and the blogs but Joe Ingarra is a good man has worked hard for the committee and he's our chairman. What Gallo did Ingarra beat is that true? What office did Joe hold?

Joe defeated T. Robert Gallo for Alderman at Large.

Blaber must have been on his meds. DO not trust that man as he has party hopped for the last 5 years. Republicans were on the bottom of his list. Perhaps he should start his own party. He could be a plant or looking for inflammatory statements for his blogs. He will turn on you all if he doesn't get his way. He leaves supporters in his wake. As to the local Repubs, they need YOUNG people with NEW ideas and plans to revive the republican party. They should have nominated John Quigley. what a shame..they might have just lost their moment to be relevant anymore in the City of Kingston. Look how far left the current administration is. That should have been their first clue.

What year was that?

5:12 PM, You don't have to worry about major political players trusting Blaber. They Don't!! He's at a dead end politically in this county with no where to run and no one to turn to. His frustrations lay from the fact that whatever promises were made to him for support did not materialize. Then again, given his overall negative background, who would chance him with a public service position??

Just wondering if you have an opinion regarding the controversy of the shooting range? I fear our voices will be drowned out by the special interest groups who oppose anything that mentions guns. Guess they don't care about jobs or they have more money than the average family in kingston and don't really notice the taxes are rising. Or they are not employed locally but have options and can afford to commute.

Gallo gave him a chance and Blaber acted in a way that required him to be fired.

Then Blaber released a secret recording he made and the rest is history.

Whether it's Gallo, Quigley, or others, he turned on all of them.

As long as it is done properly and safely, I support the proposal. This should be a simple Building Dept or Zoning Board issue, not a full scale political explosion.

anti gun hysteria going in overdrive... Calling Rebecca Martin to the rescue..Oh God..not her again.

somebody should notify the Mayor that this is a zoning dept. issue. He already said he would not support or encourage the building of the indoor gun range. well, so much for his pledge at his inauguration to help new and existing businesses .. empty promises...what else is new with politicians ..
