Emergency Meeting of Police Commission

The police commission had an emergency meeting and rescinded some prior promotions.  The talk is that Chief Tinti is going back to an old style whereby there will be no Lieutenants and the Sergeants will oversee the squads.

Expect a lawsuit or lawsuits to be filed.

That's not the reasoning that I heard but maybe you're correct because you say one thing, that other blog I won't mention says another but I heard from a Kpd Detective that Tinti had personal issues with at least one of the officers and that's why he was against them being promoted. Tinti took advantage of Mayor Noble a day after he was sworn in getting him to agree to hold a meeting on a Saturday the day after Noble promised open and transparent government. You are on a commision with the city Richard, have you ever had to go to a special emergancy meeting on a weekend over promotions? The Chief of police in my opinion from talking to a KPD officer, not one that was even effected by this by the way, took advantage of the new Mayor and it's not a good way to start his tenure, I'll say that.

There's no such thing as an "emergency meeting" under the Open Meetings Law. There are scheduled and unscheduled meetings, both must be announced to the public. I don't recall any announcements, they could have told everybody during the inauguration on Friday. What was the big rush? Here's the rub -- Noble can do no wrong, because Shayne was such a big bad bugaboo. Even intelligent people will refuse to acknowledge anything inappropriate that mayor Noble does, simply because they have so much invested in being "right." Fraudulent grant applications and double dipping, for example. Where's that fishing pier we paid for?...

Sure, give Steve a chance, he's brand new. But if and when he screws up, will we call him out like everyone did with Shayne, or will there be a double standard? Sadly, it's easy to predict what happens with knee-jerk liberals, the Birkenstock Mafia, they'll put the blinders on and march happily over the cliff.

The city of Kingston would have been so much better off with Mayor Shayne Gallo or Ron Polacco.
