More News on 2015 Elections

To the latest news and rumors ....

Ron Polacco confirmed to me personally that he is running for Mayor.

Bill Reynolds will not be running for Mayor.  This is not a surprise as Bill has a very good job and frankly I understand why he might not be willing to give that up. Whether Bill might run for a different position like Alderman or Alderman-at-Large is not yet confirmed.

Several Alderman are contemplating a run for Alderman-at-Large.  Look for Alderman Dunn to be Steve Noble's running mate.

On the Republican side, Tony Sinagra has no candidate.  He has met with Ron Polacco and does not want to endorse him.  He has no other options yet, though look for him to brag that he has 2 or 3 possible candidates.  That is his usual "M.O."

No Republican Alderman-at-Large candidates yet.  Alderwoman Brown would be formidable, though it is not clear if she would run with Polacco.  I know of NO animosity between them, but Sinagra's animosity toward Polacco could be problematic.

Finally, Mayor Gallo has not made a final chose for his running mate though he has quite a few options.  I still think the best choice for him would be Jeanette Provenzano.

Richard,

Though I'd love to see Jeanette Provenzano as Alderman-at-Large, she did announce her intention to run for County Legislature again during her January 23rd Kingston Community Radio appearance.

Sinagra should not have become Chairman he is a complete loser and is alining himself with Gallo

Gallo will not run on the Republican line. You have to understand that Shayne would consider running on the Republican line as a betrayal to his own father who was a prominent Democrat party player for many years.

To run as a Republican would be something completely contrary to who Shayne is. He is a conservative minded Democrat.

Andrew,

I know that, but people have been known to change their minds.

You will give Gallo the Conservative line the only line he will have on the ballot

I am not giving anyone anything. The city executive committee will decide that. I only vote if there is a tie.

Second, if you think Gallo will get no other line, then you are delusional. If you think Shayne will lose a democrat primary, then you are just plain nuts.

What if Jim Noble steps in for his nephew? Might this change the primary in your mind?

It would be much closer, but Gallo would still win. The average Dem voter likes Gallo. It is just some of the politicos who hate him.

Which average dem voters are you referring too? All the ones I know and interact with on a daily basis despise Gallo. The only people he has pulling for him are his employees because they fear for his jobs, and the elderly who still think they are voting for TR.

You are blinded by hatred. The average person will support Gallo.

He has kept spending down, not substantially raised taxes, and has had no major scandals.

His only real bump in the road was that he cursed out someone who frankly deserved it.

RC, speaking of a former blogger who was employed by the City of Kingston and was subsequently terminated. What ever became of him?I heard a rumor he was sentenced to jail time. Is he still involved in Democratic Party politics?
