There has been a development in the race for the Fourth Ward Alderman, especially in the Democrat Primary.
Apparently, a lawsuit has been filed in Ulster County Supreme Court (Index No. 13-2825) against Nick Woerner seeking $18,727.97 along with 6.25% interest for a debt going back to 2006, along with attorneys' fees, court costs, etc.
I expect the Freeman and Kingston Times will be covering this story shortly.

Yahoo! This really shows what a loser he is. Did he think that this would just go away? Who would want him to represent their ward and make financial decisions on their behalf as a councilman? Also goes to show the character of the boy...not a man yet! Long way to go...!
No credibility!!! Him and Blobber. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. The nerve criticizing the Mayor's every step when he can't even keep his own finances in order. He ruined the Town of Ulster so what makes one think he would not to same to City?
I hear some similar legal action was filed against Blaber.
Those two are really peas in a pod.
Woerner wants to be Mayor. He needs to be stopped.
I heard the Blaber issue had to do with a Sears credit card matter? Failure to pay his bills. But in his past he has had a mechanic lien placed on his car for non payment of services. what a pair! If any taxpayer even thought of electing them....we are all in trouble!
whats with the alderman canidate for the eight ward saying if she does'nt get the nod from the dems she will just turn replubican
Hi! Just for clarification...I am the candidate for Alderman for the 8th Ward mentioned in the above comment. My name is Lisa Bruck, I have been a Democrat for as long as I could vote (I'm 46 yrs old) & I can tell you, forthright, that I have no intention of changing parties just because I lose an election! I am a widowed, single Mom and I have always been, proudly, pro-choice, pro-equal wages for women, pro-equal rights for all mankind, pro-environmentalist, pro-peace in the world...you get the point. I have a website, www.lisabruck.com & Facebook page, Elect Lisa Bruck Alderman Ward 8. Check them out! Thanks for your time,
Lisa Bruck
PS...I was Kingston's Democratic Committee's choice for Alderman, Ward 8, then was endorsed by the Republican party, the Independence party, and the Conservative party. I am humbled by all the support that I have! I plan on working hard for EVERY resident of the neighborhood I grew up in...not just the Dems! Let's remember...we all just want fair and equal representation in government. It's ok to be endorsed across political lines, as long as your intentions are to work hard for everyone!
Ms. Bruck,
I wish you good luck. Based on the positions you set forth above, I doubt the Conservative party will endorse you again.
That being said, I give you credit for being willing to post here under your own name. That shows guts. There's precious little of that anymore in city politics.
Thank you for your kind words, Mr. Cahill! I appreciate that you give people the opportunity to voice their opinions in a respectful way, in an open forum. If I may have the last word tonight...I'll sleep well knowing that I didn't, in any way, pretend to be someone I'm not!
Enjoy the last of the summer,
All the Best,
Lisa Bruck
Why hasn't the Freeman run this story yet? Are they covering it up? Everyone knows they hate Gallo. Are they helping Woerner so he can run for Mayor next year??
Bravo for Lisa Bruck, open, honest, truthful, what a refreshing lady seeking office in the 8th Ward. Cross endorsements are made by many parties if they feel the candidate will be open, willing to listen to all sides of an issue. Each party has their own platform, and the cross endorsements from each party was well aware of her registration.

Relax. I do not think there is a conspiracy here. The Freeman will run the story. It is news after all.
yes mrs bruck you are the dems choice thanks to aunt jennett
Rich, I'm sorry to see you block out a comment I made supporting Lisa Bruck for Alderman in the 8th Ward while also explaining that candidates accept cross endorsements from other party lines based on their ability to work for all people once elected.
8:54,
Relax. I published your comment. I was off the blog for a little while. Just be patient.
