Not Real Democrats? Really?

Steve Noble has released a press release and a posting on Facebook which alleges that Shayne Gallo is not a "real Democrat" because he is seeking the Conservative Party line.

Then, Noble attempts to explain what the Conservative Party and Democrat Party members believe in philosophically.  Let's take a look at this lunacy for a moment.

A Democrat who takes the Conservative line is not a real Democrat.  So, Sheriff Van Blarcum is not a real Democrat?  Lew Kirschner, a legendary Democrat politico who ran multiple times on the Conservative line, is not a real Democrat?  Former County Democrat Chair John Parete?  T.R. Gallo? Frank Dart?  John Dwyer?  How about Uncle Jim?  He ran for Alderman on the Conservative line for Alderman.

Allow me to educate you, Steve, on Republicans and Democrats.  Not all Republicans are conservative and not all Democrats are left wingers or liberals.  When you make a silly statement that seeking the Conservative line makes you not a "real Democrat", you insult conservative and moderate democrats.

If you said Shayne is not a far left liberal, that would be true. Shayne is a moderate to conservative Democrat.  However, to say he is not a democrat is plain nonsense.  Shayne comes from an old school, Democrat family with roots going back over 100 years.  T. Robert "Bobby" Gallo and his son, Thomas R. "TR" Gallo were definitely democrats. So is Shayne.

However, let's take a look for a moment at what you believe the philosophy of Democrats should be.  You said, “Democrats support more tax dollars going to welfare, food stamps, unemployment benefits and other programs designed to support people in need.”  Really?  Real Democrats think more money should be spent on welfare??  I guess Bill Clinton is not a real Democrat by your view.  He signed into law welfare reform.

I guess it also means that if anyone out there enrolled as a Democrat thinks that Social Services spending needs to controlled is not considered by Steve Noble to be a real Democrat.  I know a lot of Democrats who want more controls on spending.  I am not sure they know that Steve thinks they are not democrats.

According to Steve, if you do not support legalizing marijuana, you are not a Democrat.  I know a lot of democrats who do not support making pot legal.

I could go on, but the point is clear.  Steve Noble thought he was going to hurt Gallo, but he just lost a tremendous number of moderate and conservative democrats,  You still have Tom Hoffay's support.  If you have about $3.00 to go with that, you can get coffee at Starbucks.

I am LOVING your comments!! Put the little boy in his place. What an inane remark. Also sounds like an elitist butt head. Sounds like Hoffay's talking points. I guess when you are making mucho bucks along with your wife on the backs of taxpayers you can spout the more left democratic ideology to make you feel better. Like you care about the common man or can grasp what is going on in our city. Well, Mr. Steve Noble..I am one of those Democrats but a Conservative one. And you can kiss my vote goodbye. Nothing like putting me down with your insulting comments. Guess your uncle Jim is now a second class citizen too as he sought the Conservative line at one time..

Are you kidding me? Steve Noble really said Democrats believe we should give more money to those on welfare? How about putting them to work. This is insane

Right on with this post Rich

I think he would be hard -pressed to find anyone IN THE WHOLE CITY who would agree that more money should be pumped into welfare. What planet is he living on?!

I would love to know who told this kid that going after his boss' job, when he has absolutely no qualifications or experience, was a good idea! I hope he has a good back up plan for himself & his wife. When he loses, does he really think his boss will just forgive & forget??!

Rich...this is brilliant and Steve Noble needs to go back to school. HOW RIDICULOUS. Do us a favor...send this in to all the newspapers as a letter to the editor...they may not print it....but then again, maybe they will! THANK YOU!

the rumor is that there were only 2 names....guess who!!! Further investigation could probably reveal more truth to that fact. As a young couple I would hope they have a back up plan as I can almost bet their jobs will be eliminated or somehow downgraded into part time jobs with no benefits. Or the grants that cover their salaries is eliminated or severely reduced by the state. You enter politics as a novice totally unaware and that is the chance you take. The family plan at city hall is never a good idea. In the private sector more than likely that would not have been allowed where husband and wife work in the same dept. Of if one reports to the other.
As to the comments of young Noble in his definition of the different parties he has shot himself in the foot. Does he realize that in the political elections a lot of party members vote for the man and not the party?. That would be me. As a registered Democrat I lean a lot of times in my vote to republicans depending on the issues. That comment of his about welfare benefits and etc was to pander to the lower income who welcome those benefits to remain intact or expanded. The city doesn't not determine the policy of NYS in those matters but he is hoping those voters come to the local polls and vote for him. The resentment that statement caused was a bad call on his part. As somebody who is working I don't need to see more dollars going to social services as that is where most tax dollars are spent while I am busting my back to work two part time jobs to stay off the welfare rolls after losing my job of 10 years.

The last thing I want to comment on was Rich's statement about Democrat Bill Clinton who did sign a bill to reform welfare and its benefits. Good comeback! Guess Steve not a good student in American History/Politics. or commons sense.....

According to Mr. Noble, he and his wife received their jobs after scoring in the top three on the list. The civil service condiments show that only two people took the test and they scored numbers one and two. You guessed it, Steven and Julie Noble. As they both received the same score, and there were two jobs to fill, who was one and who was two didn't matter.

That's documents. I don't think civil service has condiments. :)

Uncle Jim arranged the test for just his nephew Steve and his wife, funny the only two taking a test for a good job. It's public record, check it out.

Was this test even publicized any place in a public venue? Or just posted in an obscure part of city hall...like under the stairwell at the side door. Or a private conversation with the Civil service Dept. Did Mr and Mrs Noble flip a coin to see who was going to be boss or take the higher paying salary.? Who did the actual interview? Do they both collect medical benefits? or does one take a "buy out"? Let me guess! Does Seve Noble write the grants that pay their salaries? If so, maybe he or she won't be getting a paycheck if there is a major issue in the Grant dept. Did anybody check to see if the Nobles are getting paid while the grants are bogged down in disbursement issues?

the freeman wont print it.

4:15 Pm....what great points. If we had real reporters in this city...yes, I know...I am dreaming....but if we DID, they would FOIL this information on the tests, how it was not publicized, etc...

One of the problems in running in a democratic party primary is that only 10 to 15 % of the party enrollment vote. And these voters tend to lean to the left of the political spectrum. This is one reason why Kevin Bryant, when seeking the democratic nomination for family court judge in last year's primary, declined the conservative party endorsement. Thus paving the way for Keri Savona to receive it in addition to her Republican-Independence Party endorsements.Subsequently, Savona then went on to win the 3rd family court judge seat in the general election.
