Two debates have been confirmed and two more are currently being scheduled. The Daily Freeman and the Kingston Times are currently planning candidate debates before their editorial boards. No word yet on the date or time of either.
However, two debates have been scheduled. The first is hosted by the Chamber of Commerce. It will be held on Friday, October 14th at 7:30 am at the Holiday Inn. Tickets are $15.00 for Chamber members and $30.00 for non-members. Call for tickets at (845) 338-5100.
The second is sponsored by the League of Women Voters. It will be held on Saturday, October 29th at 10:00 a.m. at City Hall. This event is open to the public without charge.
I urge people to attend and ask their questions. If there is insufficient time to get your question asked, just see me after the debate and I will answer any and all questions.

I hear Shayne is running with Noble for Alderman at large.
For this reason alone he should lose.
After all the years this man has been wasting our time, I find it disturbing that a new bright candidate will lower his standards to have anyone remotely associated with the Sottile regime on his team.
I was leaning his was, however I am back on your band wagon.
Hey 4:10 p.m. Shayne didn't pick Noble he was the party choice. However I gree he should step aside and let Shayne bring alonf his own choice to be his mate.
WGHQ also has a debate at an unannonced time to be announced at a later date.
Mayor and Alderman-at-Large don't run together like the President and VP of the U.S. Shayne can't bring along his own choice to be his running mate - the candidate has to have petitions circulated to get on the ballot - and the deadline for that was 3 months ago.
Shayne and Noble would be foolish to not run together. They have the same party lines, and you want to encourage people to stay on those lines.
But if people like Shayne and Joe Marchetti, it's certainly an option to vote that way.
10:25,
If people want to vote Cahill-Noble, or Cahill -Marchetti, they can.
10:P29 - you're right - I used that example because of 4:10 p.m.'s and 1:10 p.m.'s comments.
My point (and I guess I didn't do a good job), is that the Mayor and Alderman-at-Large don't get voted in as a team.
